This is a presentation in which we will share real-world examples of taking Kanban and Lean thinking to the portfolio road map level, as well as the organizational challenges companies faced doing so. When we talk about Kanban and other Lean methods, we often focus on how teams can improve the flow of value to customers while reducing cost. In many companies, however (especially large ones), some of the greatest opportunities to maximize flow might exist at the portfolio level. Leaders and execs can become levers of Lean improvement in the organization, and can have the benefit of demonstrating Lean thinking from the top - one of the core necessities for cultural change to occur at lower levels.
